Our values answer the question “How will we help each other walk God’s way?”
Jesus is the centre of all that we are as a church. We acknowledge Him as our Lord and celebrate the significance of his death and resurrection regularly as we meet together.
Foundational Values – These are the things we hold as fundamental in our journey together as a church.
The Bible: Everything we do should be consistent with God's guidance given in the Bible.
Prayer: We recognise our dependence on God through prayer in everything we do.
Expressions of our Values – These are the ways in which we choose to express our life as a church.
Teamwork. We believe all of us are gifted by God and we encourage participation as part of our growth together.
Creativity. Our church life should be fresh and challenging so we use as much creativity as we can.
Real life. Our faith has to have meaning and application in our whole life. Our teaching and activities recognise this.
Belonging. Wherever a person may be on their spiritual journey, DHVC is a place they can call home.
Community. We view ourselves as a central part of the local community. Our focus is outward rather than inward.
